d_c
Hey Ricci, you mentioned the xxx would perform better in a larger sealed. What size did you have in mind? I'm helping out a friend with a nearfield sub and am hoping to use one of these little fellas you have here.
Infrasonic
I'd go no lower than 8cuft (also slightly depends on split-coil or overhung version) but I'd shoot for 10-12cuft at the least.

It's for the overhung version he has for sale above and It needs to get up to the back of the middle of the chair sitting on a riser, so that is perfect. And no, Scott, an ass-fire riser mounted sub is not an option! We are debating less sub and small amp vs. beastie sub and big amp. He just wants the one driver so the xxx is my first choice for the price.
Infrasonic
Haha. Would have to be quite a tall riser had you were interested in the ass-fire setup. Yep. That's why I would go 10-12cuft at the least.
Ricci
The overhung version has quite a lot more motor force than the split coil so it works in a smaller box. It doesn't model like the split coil version. 6 to 8 cubes should be just fine.

That's really good to know. I was dumping all a sanway clone could give to my pair of split coils in 8 cuft boxes and they just laughed at it and kept asking for more. It's good to see they remedied that somewhat with the overhung design.

I wonder if I could make a small PPSL if I bought this one? I recall they sounded pretty good... Yeah mine served faithfully for many years on an amplifier with about 3x the rms rating of the driver. Still works fine. Not a bad driver at all. It just isn't worth much. I'm trying to find homes for all of this equipment I've got collecting dust. chrapladm
Dangit I wish I had the funds for these Kyle. Would love to have a pair of these. I was hoping to own a pair of these in the future. Seems like a perfect driver for my own personal wants. I hope you sell them but I am also hoping you have a pair of them down the road still.
