Ricci
Measured parameters, notes and impedance curve for this cost effective Italian 21" woofer are now posted.
Kyle
Great price on this thing, really puts B&C in check there. My only gripe is, its more or less par for the field / meetoo product but at least they are undercutting the competition and driving price down. The 18" is really a bargain from PE right now, $340 :O
Ricci
Outdoor GP test of this driver in the sealed cabinet are posted. This is a heckuva driver for the money. Enjoy.
kipman725
They don't appear to have a UK distributor unfortunately. Only difference in performance seems to be higher impedance compared to 21DS115-4. This could actually make quite a big system cost difference though as it looks like you could get most of the performance of the B&C using something like an inuke6000 whereas the Lavoce requires a greater voltage swing amplifier to reach the driver limits. Kyle
wow! Based on the new sealed system max output tests that Josh just posted it looks like it outright beats the B&C in the midbass region and matches it everywhere else. Both of these drivers are beastly... https://data-bass.com/#/systems/5d02b177d6b2560004ebe49e?comps=5d03f339d349e90004d8fcd5&_k=ok0919
Kyle
Is there a US distributor for the 214.50 ?
SME
Parts Express? Compared to the B&C, I believe the suspension doesn't tighten up as fast, so it has a bit more travel beyond Xmax. I'm not sure I'd want to run it like that though.
Ricci
Versatile driver too. Models good in the Othorn, Skram, Skhorn and of course vented cabs and even FLH's if you have the space.
Samps
I should probably know this but is the name: La-vo-chay La-vo-say La-vo-see
tktran303
Well your SAN 214.50 measures great, and looks like unbeatable value. Makes me look into their catalogue to see what their other drivers are like. There is a SAN215.30 with a bigger voice coil, and this tweeter is probably also amazing value: http://www.lavocespeakers.com/single-product/?id=169 Is this a Chinese company with an Italian name? Or an Italian design house with manufacturing in China? what is “100% Made In Italy Electroacoustic Excellence”?

The gaps specs are only slightly different with a 4mm longer gap and only a 0.8mm longer coil. Looks like functional excursion won't be too much greater. Perhaps a mm or so for the new one. It isn't as efficient as the 214.50 but it should have higher power handling. I wonder what the price will be like. Lavoce is an Italian company with R&D done in Italy and China MFG. tktran303
There was a sale on this unit last week. US$370!
NiToNi
I noticed there is a "low distortion" version available of this driver, called the 214.50LD: http://www.lavocespeakers.com/lavoce/assets/datasheets/1491384956_LAVOCE_SAN214.50LD_21in_SUBWOOFER_A.a.pdf
