nube
Big Hero 6 (7.1 DTS-HD MA) Level - 2 Stars (107.48dB composite)Extension - 2 Stars (20.4Hz)Dynamics - 5 Stars (30.98dB) Execution - 3 Stars (by poll) Overall - 3 StarsRecommendation - Buy (by poll) Notes: The bass was reminiscent of Fury in some ways - not loud, not low, but sounded pretty good and was fairly dynamic. It was used to pretty good effect throughout. PvA:
Rowan611
Liked the movie. Thought it was well mixed, just thought it would have more bass.
Toe
Good rent, but nothing worth owning for me. Audio/bass was OK, nothing great.
Aj72
Agree with Toe here. Some good scenes but lacked variety. Didn't seem as clean as it could've been either.
maxmercy
There is a possible BEQ solution for this film. More later. JSS

SME
This movie was a lot of fun and had fantastic dynamics. I played it at "0" and could have easily tolerated a higher playback level. Unfortunately, I felt the sound design was lacking, and the humped 30 Hz response left a lot to be desired in the bass. The 35 Hz hump was really obvious, particularly in the transients, which seemed overly "boomy" in this range. On the other hand, there was plenty of good mid-bass kick and slam including in the score and most of the music. Despite it's flaws, the dynamics in this track made it very exciting and fun. I hope more movies take after it in terms of mix levels but preferably without the hump and steep drop at 30 Hz. JSS, any luck with that BEQ? An undo for that filter (and a rising response toward the low end) could make for a wicked bass presentation.
maxmercy
BEQ for BH6 is very good. Have not posted it yet, JSS
