  1. Yes, the receiver is in bypass mode pretty much and I would turn down all the levels as low as possible and control it through the nano and amps. Of course this is for high sensitive speakers.
  2. For your Nano to work make sure the 24hz option in your bluray player is turned off. Once I turn the 24hz off my nano works awesome.
  3. Thanks. My other computer has spec lab setup with Bosso's but the damn thing won't recognize my external mic! I posted another capture with the internal mic.
  4. Hey, does anyone have Bosso's spec lab settings? I just ran Irene for the first time and my spec lab settings seem to have gone wrong! I posted the pic on avs.
  5. I wonder how that would fare. My baffle wall is not a true IB sized enclosure.
  6. Ricci, Could you test an IB driver? I would love to have one of my drivers tested. Bosso, How well did the Si18's perform? Same sound as the 24? For the same price you could have 5 of them vs the 24. Still, it is nice to know one could build a single sub and have it reach reference! Damn impressive.
  7. Where do you guys find all these smiley's? Is that a ninja smiley? Cool. I have not even watched Gravity yet in my room but I thought Elysium was great for it's bass. I like Amazing spider man, Dredd, etc.. It seems Gravity was supposed to be like these but it is filtered so I am expecting not as good as the others. The best part of this thread is that one can expect good things from the ratings. When I see a film that has 5 stars everywhere but level I know the bass will be awesome. When I see a movie that has high level too it will be a rare event! The movies with loud levels and filtered are all starting to sound the same to me. I am very lucky to love the score of MoS and movie because it makes me over look the filtered track. I am a sucker for super hero movies and especially Superman. I don't ever use MoS for demo purposes, I leave that for LOTR as scores are concerned or TDK. They both have nice bass as well. If I want Bass I throw in WOTW, FOTP, TIH, and I have not yet watched Star Trek with the new setup.
  8. I understand but real effects to stop at 18hz so to me saying it makes you think you are in space because it is most likely due to the video which at Imax was fantastic. Pacific rim had loud bass to 20hz but there are better movies that made huge objects more real. This is the same discussion I had with Bosso and the door slam transient. Our real door slams get down to 3hz in room yet movies have them at 20hz. Even though the effect at 20hz was great for the movie it was not real at all. Maybe they used a different door or something or they digitized it for their systems. IDK, it seems like every movie that feels more real has better bandwidth and I don't even know it does. FOTP has awesome 32hz stuff but that whole scene has lots of weight to it because it has low frequencies, not once did Pacific rim or the Avengers have that feeling. I like all these movies. BTW, I did not know it was you on both threads, so there is not lots of talk just you giving an opinion. Makes more sense and you are surely entitled to your opinion. However, some of your reasoning on why(real) does not jive with me because real sounds are not filtered. I understand opinion as my friend's favorite scene is the Bat taking off from TDKR(the bass). To each their own which is what makes life interesting. If we all agreed it would get boring fast.
  9. I don't understand, just looking at the measurements Thor 2 is a better bass movie, is all this best bass movie ever stuff because they like the movie that much. I have seen it at Imax(I watch all my movies now at Imax) and don't go otherwise. It was not the best audio experience at even Imax. I liked the movie though.
  10. Hey guys, I am trying to run spec lab again but this time I am using my HDMI computer with a bluray player. So I want the computer and bluray drive be the source and then connect my mic and HDMI to my AVR for my rom spec lab graph and then compare it to digital but I am having a hard time getting the digital to work. Am I choosing the correct sound card or not sure what I am missing. I can take this to PM or the other thread if you guys wish.
  11. Nube, there is a scene at 23:25 during Elysium that I wonder how low it goes. After the accident they drag him to the medical room. A nice sweep that goes very low. Still hard to tell on concrete but I will rewatch it from the back row on the riser and see how different it is. I watched it at reference and the bass 3 dBs hot.
  12. Just wanted to mention that if you are adding all the channels up and LFE why would you add 3 dBs more for peaks? 105 and 115 dBs are already peaks so why add another 3 dBs?
  13. I see the OHF peak hold graph hit 110 dBs at 1 hz. I see about 19hz hit 115 dBs, where does the 124 dBs come from? If we truly are hitting 124 dBs from bass management then if you want the waterfall to correspond to that it should be purple, no?
  14. Well I know I am feeling the low stuff during Balrog as The graph shows! I am running the scene at 110 dBs at 5 hz apparently.
