  1. Hey Max, Here is TF1 megatron blasts Jazz on the BEQ version. / How do I graph the digital version to compare to my mic'd version?
  2. The Imax I went to drowned out the vocals and was even louder, my HT experience was actually much better(The bass is always better home). This movie was loud but it never was harsh and I never noticed the clipping either. During TF4 and Godzilla I can't stop hearing it. I have to say as much as I wanted the low end to be as high as the 30hz stuff to feel more weight it probably would have shut down my breaker trying to do so. I ran the bass 10 dB hot and the rest of the speakers at reference and it was very exciting. I have to say the Monster AVS 2000 allowed me to play the whole movie hot so it is a keeper as triggered outlets go.
  3. I finally just finished Interstellar. The sound of clipping was not nearly as bad as TDKR, TF 4, Godzilla, or STID. I can hear the dialog just fine throughout the movie although lower during the really loud score scenes. Reference level viewing was just fine and the bass was almost great. It just lacked some weight like 9 or TIH. It was there but it was drowned out by the really loud 30hz stuff. Overall I thought this was a really good cinematic experience, I felt like I was in that spaceship! If this had louder lower frequencies it would be right up there. The dynamics were very good just not 5 star but considering how loud the movie was it did a pretty good job. One scene made me jump and I was ready for it!
  4. I have only watched part of insterstellar on bluray and I can hear dialog much better than the IMAX I saw it in. I am not sure what type of IMAX it was but the screen is taller than wide.
  5. I was looking for a place to post. If they are wrong than the mic is bad.
  6. My rear subs are about 6 feet away from the mic. The fronts are 14 feet away. The mic rolls off below 10hz without correction files. It is a UMIK from minidsp. I think I need to turn up the Adcom to get a better representation. My nearfield subs are not within 1 meter so room gain is kicking in but not quite as much as the front. All I did was turn the gain all the way down on each channel. Channel one runs the front array and channel 2 runs the back. The front array is 2 ohms and 8 drivers and the back is 4 ohms with 4 drivers.
  7. Here are sweeps of my subs front wall and rear subs. I connected the adcom to the rear subs as well to compare. Green: Adcom rear lower dark purple: clone rear Maroon: front w/clone top light purple: clone all subs My UMIK does not have cal files below 10hz. This was at the MLP without touching gain, mic or anything. I tried matching the Adcom upper bass to the clone with the clones gains. The Adcom does not have gain controls. I should run a louder sweep with it maybe?
  8. Max, you are doing great! Nothing is perfect but we do te best we can and what you are doing is amazing and to me just like the spec graphs Bosso has contributed. All I do is build silly systems based on your guys data and know how and compare and give opinions. I mean whether it is rated 1 or 5 stars all one has to do is compare the PVA's and see where a movie will be louder or not. When people tell me a movie has better bass and the PVA's don't back up their opinions I just say it is based on their response and not what is on tw disc. That is OK as we all have opinions on what sounds great. EoT does not sound as loud as others but it does play loud and low and I bet many ported systems won't reproduce it correctly unless tuned in the single digits. I can see where the guys don't like peaks as it is like calibrating your your levels with peaks rather than a flat response.
  9. It really shows how awesome the bass feels like when the digital input is a rising response to 5hz or lower!
  10. The NanoAVR easily EQ's the sub and does a great job. The bad thing about the NanoAvr is that you can not get 9.1 or higher. It is the processor but it processes everything at 96khz rather than 48khz with processors.
  11. Bosso shows the digital spec graph first and then his in room to show how close it is. If there is no distortion in the digital signal then there won't be in the room measurement if accurate. Same goes if there is distortion from the digital signal, that would get reproduced as well. If IMD is added to his system and it is masked by other frequencies it would show up as a louder than digital signal.
  12. Whew! I am sorry someone never returned it. Never let one bad egg spoil the rest.
  13. Lilmike, That is not the thing I borrowed before? I mailed that device a long time ago.
  14. Is that when the plane flips and then right after you get a couple of puffs of wind hitting you? I have not tried that scene in a while and not since my new sub system.
  15. I guess I could run the sub out and then compare it to AVR, drivers nearfield, and all together to figure out just amp.
  16. How do I run the output of the amp to the line in?
  17. I am using a windows 8 computer with hdmi. I have my yamaha AVR hooked up to my Sanway via sub outs. I usually plug the computer HDMI into the AVR HDMI input 4.
  18. Can we run a loopback with an HDMI computer? I have everything using HDMI now so how do I do each component? Basically I want to know my AVR LFE out, Sanway amp, etc..
