  1. I voted LOTR for 5 stars! These movies just have well executed LFE and audio and to me digs deep! I always and still use them as one awesome demo for musical score, surrounds, dynamics, and LFE.
  2. I don't want you to change anything. I just feel TIH was punished for more bass than others and not being quiet enough. I was done right! I also agree that 5 star films should be rare because it is the best of the best as bass is concerned. I just think TIH got screwed! Not enough quiet scenes for crying out loud. It is what it is and anyone knows that TIH is a demo movie for bass.
  3. I still use my extended edition bluray of FOTR and it sounds great to me. I have showed the Balrog scene to a few members and they seem to really like the sound. No, maybe not 5 stars but damn good. Also it always seems the low level movies get 5 star dynamics because the levels are so much different due to the low level and peaks. I don't think a movie like TIH should get punished in dynamics because I has loud bass most of the time. That should be a good thing!
  4. Ok, I am now subless and want to start fresh. I am going back to 7.1 and making the room ideal for my 3 front seats And especially the center seat for me. I will add bass traps to where the back surrounds were and panels on the ceiling and the whole front wall. I am also finally going to build a baffle wall and try an IB maybe. Give me some ideas and which way to go?
  5. My Ada was rolled off at 5hz and the Meridian rolls off at 7 hz. This new( I am still demoing and tweaking) receiver shows output to 2hz. I still need to flatten it from 20-80hz(couple peaks). It is the brand new SR 8100 from Sherbourn and it kills my pioneer elite SC-37 so far. I still have to A/b with my separates as they are still hooked as well, just need to switch the speaker cables from the AVR to the amp and done. The Auto EQ sounds really good and the only bad is so far is the volume has no defined level for reference so I have to measure a dialog scene and make sure I matches the separates. Max, I instantly noticed their was much fuller or more weight to the bass and the pressure was built up faster.
  6. Hey Nube, Remember you asked me why my graphs were rolling off at 7hz? Well, I just figured out it was the processor. I have a new one hooked and I am lower than ever and guess what, I felt it first! I played a movie I am familiar with and had the bass 3 dBs hot and it had much more bass than the previous processor and about the same when running that 10 dBs hot. Well, it extends to 2hz! I will post up some graphs. Maybe my speclab stuff won't be so bad anymore, we will see.
  7. Thanks, it looks like I was 5 dBs too hot and I have nothing below 3hz. Those little light red blips are nonexistent on my graphs but all my graphs fall off the cliff at 3hz. Damn sound card! Until I get a new sound card I can't get the low stuff accurately but I could still help out with the list. You guys tell me what you want. I don't have a PC with a drive in it as well. All USB. All my good computers are owned by my children and my good one is at the office.
  8. Nube, Can you do the FOTP plane crash scene? The part where the plane starts to roll. I would like to compare graphs so I can see how much low end I am missing. The follows off low end is why I stopped. I have 6hz and above nailed down. My FOTP graphs were a tad hot! Looks pretty though.
  9. Hey guys, so I recalibrated with the phantom power off and it did help a little. My graphs are now -5 dBs at 5 hz and -9 dBs at 3 hz. Do you still want me to graph the list even though I am down.
  10. Yeah, I would love for all the people who say they can easily play at reference show their THD sweeps as well. It is much harder than one thinks to keep it clean at reference. My system can play very loud and I creep into 3% THD at 2.2khz at 105 dBs.(with sine waves of course), at reference I am below 1% everywhere else.
  11. Hey, My sound card had my phantom power on during all the graphs, would that cause noise? I never though of turning it off since I always used my mic.
  12. BTW, I watched OZ before I graphed it, I always watch before I graph as I have kids and I am the biggest one. The Hobbit's bass was gone but I own it just because and I never graphed it because there was no need. I only graph something I notice or requested by others.
  13. I need to watch this at reference now! Besides the video is superb as well! Bosso I noticed that unique sound as well and was going to just graph that scene. It looks like a couple 30-20 hz sweeps with a big blast near 20hz!
  14. I have not even watched the movie at rest ence yet, about 10 dBs low and I knew which scenes to graph. I was basing the not 5 stars rating on the lower levels at the 3-20hz level compared to the 5 stars, that is all. FOTP is lower under 20 hz but hit 5 stars overall so you never know. I know I felt that 30-20 hz sweep during the ceiling crash even at 10 dBs low.
  15. Dr. Sound it looks to me it went to 3 hz! Always welcome the deep stuff! Bosso, yeah my goal was to copy your graphs and man I am very close. My sound card rolls off too much and I can not compensate for it yet but Max is working on it. I lose all the red under 5hz! Damn it, I am so close!
