maxmercy
Terminator: Genisys - Dolby Atmos (7.1 Analyzed) Level - 5 Stars (114.55dB composite) Extension - 3 Stars (18Hz) Dynamics - 4 Stars (25.17dB) Execution - TBD Overall - TBD Recommendation - TBD Comments: LOUD. Loudness War loud. Only 0.04dB lower than loudest film ever measured, Transformers 4. Clips on every channel. Good nostalgia moments, but otherwise I think they have stretched every dollar out of this franchise that they can. Also very weird seeing Daenerys Targaryen without dragons around. JSS Terminator Genisys -Atmos track defaulted to 7.1 Dolby TrueHD SCALE 00:02:05 00:08:32 00:19:50 00:27:36 01:24:48 01:28:32 01:37:46 Max: looks like soft limiting but it is well under a WCS and when I zoomed in on the highest level parts it didn't look like they were playing with square waves. http://data-bass.ipb...movies/?p=10657
Rowan611
I thought it sounded pretty good. I heard clipping in the center channel a few times. Thought it went lower than 18hz though. Going to have to rewatch at a louder volume. Didn't care for the movie though, I bought it, but voted rent. Thank Max!!
gdffgdfgd
I thought the sound was amazing on this one, especially the bass. Yes, it's really loud but the dynamics are ok and it definitely was some of the most fun I ever had with my HT. Bass was very varied too, no comparison to something like Pacific Rim. The only other recent movie that gave my subs a workout like this one was probably San Andreas but that one was ridiculously over the top, I expect it to measure at least as loud if not louder than Transformers 4. As for the movie, I actually enjoyed it a lot more than I expected based on the mixed reviews (the sound probably played a major part in that though). The plot may not make the most sense but it continually surprised me, because I somehow thought this was mostly a remake of the original film. Imagine my surprise when things just kept going quite different than I expected them to.
Toe
I thought Salvation had a better overall audio track compared to this film. I thought TG, as far as the movie itself goes was pretty bad. One watch was plenty for me and glad I rented!
Samps
The scene where the bus flips on the bridge was the best in my room. Even my wife commented about it. Which time stamp was that?
Shredhead
01:28:32 I think.
Shredhead
I thought Salvation had a better overall audio track compared to this film. I've heard this a couple of times now so I figured I'd spec that one too since I never got around to it. Archaea
In my opinion - this had one of the best, most fun audio tracks I've ever experienced. It was Atmos, (I watched it in 7.1.4 with 8 sealed 18" subwoofers) the bass was intense, varied, unique, and fun! I REALLY enjoyed the soundtrack! I enjoyed the movie too. I rated it 5 star and though I rented it at first through RedBox - it was a immediate buy for me.
lgans316
This is hardly a ULF monster when compared to Hurt Locker, 9 and Hellboy 2. However I must admit it is an engaging soundtrack.
