Good question. I use the "rule of thumb" type modelling when I use Unibox.
The severity of compression is worsened with smaller surface area. Ie: smaller port/vent, easier for compression to set in.
I'm no expert at all. Just use good sense when designing.
I would like to see if there is a way to really "model" it though. The smarter guys here will know im sure.

Can you test 2ohm per channel, Luke?
I'm guessing it will be half the bridged numbers.
-
Damn right.

Don't be mentioning that on some of the 'audiophile' forums, they'll cry 'Heresy!!', round you up with pitchforks, burn you at the stake, then return to a nice dinner listening to their single 10" because, you know, 10s are lightweight and 'fast'
Or just as good...
"Subwoofers aren't 'musical'."
No. Your shitty room and system setup is "not musical".
(not YOU MemX, but those guys....)

I know, right?!?!
Magical super woofer!

Haha! Well first of all... I'd love to but I can't. That response does not exist anymore. I've changed it already.
Do you want a copy of my current FR? And... I have no idea what "file" to send you. I can...umm...take a pic, like I do.
My second most recent FR is in the link in my sig. Second post. Already changed that too.
-
Huh? It was just a one-octave smoothed graph illustrating a comparison to the "preferred" FR shape Max was commenting about.
Of course the full un-smoothed response does not look like that.
-
Probably nothing special but let's hope I'm wrong.
Btw, did any one do 13 Hours?
-
Pretty sure he is just plain busy and doesn't have much time for the forum(s).
But he's still around.

Oh definitely. Just wondering where you had sourced your copy from.
While the movie was terrible to most, I enjoyed it for some odd reason. I'll check out the retail copy when I get a chance.
-
Dave, was that a rental? I remember you doing another movie (one of the Divergent movies?) and you had way less bass but someone with the actual copy of the movie had a different mix with a lot more ULF.
Maybe the same thing happening?
-
Ah, sorry. Thought they were dual coil 1ohm.
-
How come not used in 4ohm and bridge the K20?
Either way... wow.
-
Yeah. Looks impressive with some pretty stout specs. Not sure if it would really "best" the 152. I think this one is even more of a bass/midbass when compared to the 152 though. Even B&C recommends a small/medium resonant enclosure tuned to 40hz.

One octave smoothed graph of my main FR.

Maybe he has 36 of them and can only run 32...

Why you no use deez??!?!?!?!?!?!?
-
So probably not very low then.
Try the scene where Starkiller base fires it's main weapon. I remember that really chattered my teeth in the theater.
-
PEQ boost in the area where it is compressing the most.
-
Probably just to facilitate easier hookup of multiple enclosures per channel.
Surprised there is no Speakon output jack.
-
Woah! New site, new product and new prices.
Hell yeah!

Sorry to keep bugging you Luke but the results still don't look right to me. Do you have impedance curve measurements of the subs in the cabs covering say 2-200Hz?
Is it possible that by design the SP's are capable of lots of current but not wide enough voltage swings?
Isn't your K20 a voltage monster?
-
Is that a ridiculous expectation?
What happened to you? You used to be cool, Luke.

Looks like Brian has lowered prices across the board and now offers the DSP option to everyone:
You have no excuse now.

Excellent stuff, Josh!
It's fun to start seeing one system compared to itself with different amps. Sometimes the results can make one system look like something entirely different! The T3 system, for example. The original test makes it look like a HE uber woofer will screaming top end and drooping low end. The new test makes it look like a smoother 'subwoofer' type response. (I know there is a lot more to it than that, just keeping it simple)
Very cool. Wonder how the MAUL will graph out with the SP amps. If you do that one too, I mean.
