Ricci
You could do something similar and shrink the cabinet and slot volume somewhat to better fit the 18". The 18 doesn't need as much airspace to work in.

Chris
Hi all I am looking at a DIY FOH build. For the top boxes looking at the Peter Morris PM90 and was wondering if this sub in two per side would be a good match. I plan to bite the bullet and spend once so the Eminence NSW6021-6 will be the driver. On that what would be ideal power amps to run the show Chris

I've not personally heard the PM90's but I've looked at the design and talked with guys who have built and heard them. The feedback and measurements are positive. Amplification will depend on budget, channel needs and available mains supply. You've got everything from Behringer at the cheap end on up through something like a PS X8. Would the PM90,s be active? Nicholas
Is the front panel necessary or can i use without it? How does affect the frequency response?
Ricci
You can use it as a vented cab without the front panel. It is designed to be used either way. If you read the initial (LONG) posts I made it goes into some detail about what the front panel "should" do. I never had a chance to fully GP test this cab design yet. CoastalJay
With a massive shortage of available drivers, the Dayton PSS545 Velocity models quite well. I am going to try it and build 1, any chance of the DXF files to make my life easier on the CNC? Thank you Jason
Ricci
CJ, Everything is in the first couple of posts. FYI. The Dayton has a large amount of inductance. It will modify the performance significantly if the effects weren't included in the model.
M88@FL450
Any Burst Output numbers to compare to SK and Skram? This is a great design without leaving much on the table for size.
CoastalJay
Any chance of posting the DXF files? Thank you
Ricci
I do not have DXF files developed for this. Your CNC provider would need to roll their own. This is the simplest design though. It shouldn't be very difficult.
Victor
First post on this forum, hi Guys! Really like all the content here and wish I would find it sooner. Looks like a pair of Ckrams is my next dream build. Big thanks for the design and detailed information! Frankly would prefer to build Scrams instead but the size and weight scares me (me and my spine, to be precise), don't think I can handle it. The biggest sub I built so far is vented B&C 18DS115-8 and so it's very interesting for me to see how a couple of NSW21 in Ckram cabs will sound. I will do some measurements after I'm done and will post here.
Ricci
Excellent Victor. Welcome to the forums. I look forward to your build.
Chris
Hi Guys Has been awhile. Due to the AUD exchange rate and shipping the NSW21 and most other are bit pricey!! Have any of you modelled the SB Audience Nero? (see attach below) and would they be ok in this cabinet? Still looking at two per side and running a Powersoft K10 Also I was going to look at the PM90 but have just picked up a pair of EAW394 powered version in mint condition. Crossover select 80 or 110. So would the CKRAM be smooth up to 110? TIA Chris https://www.sbaudience.com/index.php/products/subwoofers/nero-21sw1100d/
Ricci
Hey Chris. The Nero will make some noise but it has lower xmax, power handling and less motor force. It probably wants a bit more cabinet volume. Hard to say with out trying it though. The Mms is light too indicating a cone that may flex at war volume. CKram should be useful up to 120Hz giver or take.
Nicholas
Hey Ricci, Is it possible to make an modified isobaric version of that? I would like to fit 2x21s in a compact subwoofer like the CKRAM.
Ricci
Isobaric doesn't really give much extra output. You are still limited by the xmax of 1 driver. it was a way to get extra motor force and a smaller cab back in the day. The modern 21's don't lack for motor force. It's a huge money sink for not much gain. The CKRAM is already small for a single 21.

klipsch
Both! Which one fits better in your space? Which one is easier / cheaper to make? Are you only making one sub? Do you already have drivers?

klipsch
I'd just make more skrams, but would love to see you make ckrams and share your experiences
Blackrapids
Hey gang- know it’s been a bit quiet here, but wondering if anyone had any DSP/ crossover suggestions for the CKRAM. Very much looking forward to building. Thanks a ton for the continued great work @Ricci
Lex breijs
Hello, New to the forum, impressive stuf !! searching the different forums for a compact somewhat light enclosure with max output for a sound system operated outside and bike mounted (Dutch people.....). Am i correct in concidering the ckram for this purpose, or can more knowledgable people on this forum direct me in the right way. Also, are the plans for the ckram yet available in any cnc or cnc transferable format?
Lex breijs
Using economy style plywood and some scraps for the 12mm parts i started construction here are some pictures of the process. First off thank you Josh the drawings are flawless! Sadly upon reaching this point my work shift starts again so will continue with the circular bit once i get back home. sofar everything is up to the millimeter exactly as drawn. Upon completion i would like to submit measurements. I think i have everything (software, calib. mic., mic, stand etc) Could anyone point me in the right directions on a step by step measurement process? I know theres a big chance this thread is dead, no one will be reading this but im trying anyway and like to thank Josh again for the nice drawings. Greetings Lex Breijs. 1
