Comments:  LOUD.  Loudness War loud.  Only 0.04dB lower than loudest film ever measured, Transformers 4.  Clips on every channel.  Good nostalgia moments, but otherwise I think they have stretched every dollar out of this franchise that they can.  Also very weird seeing Daenerys Targaryen without dragons around.

Max: looks like soft limiting but it is well under a WCS and when I zoomed in on the highest

level parts it didn't look like they were playing with square waves.

I thought the sound was amazing on this one, especially the bass. Yes, it's really loud but the dynamics are ok and it definitely was some of the most fun I ever had with my HT. Bass was very varied too, no comparison to something like Pacific Rim. The only other recent movie that gave my subs a workout like this one was probably San Andreas but that one was ridiculously over the top, I expect it to measure at least as loud if not louder than Transformers 4.

As for the movie, I actually enjoyed it a lot more than I expected based on the mixed reviews (the sound probably played a major part in that though). The plot may not make the most sense but it continually surprised me, because I somehow thought this was mostly a remake of the original film. Imagine my surprise when things just kept going quite different than I expected them to.

I thought Salvation had a better overall audio track compared to this film.

I've heard this a couple of times now so I figured I'd spec that one too since I never got around to it.

In my opinion - this had one of the best, most fun audio tracks I've ever experienced.

It was Atmos, (I watched it in 7.1.4 with 8 sealed 18" subwoofers) the bass was intense, varied, unique, and fun!

I REALLY enjoyed the soundtrack!  I enjoyed the movie too.   I rated it 5 star and though I rented it at first through RedBox - it was a immediate buy for me.
