nube
I voted 3 stars and rent. I'm not a huge fan of the storyline and, while I thought the surround work and the mixing were really well done in this movie, it didn't deliver the kind of bass I was hoping for. There was essentially nothing deep from this 30Hz movie, and the bass that was there wasn't very loud or especially interesting. It was a marked improvement over the first one, however, both in terms of bass content and movie content, so it has that going for it. Though it has great dynamics, it doesn't quite match up to the first one (which recently got remeasured here) on that account.
Basshead81
I voted 3 stars and rent. Very lack luster bass flick...overall the first movie imo was much better. The sound mix was good as Nube pointed out, but it could of been so much more with some good lfe.
tuxedocivic
I voted 3 and rent as well. Thankfully I didn't really let the sound interfere with my experience this time, but when it was over I thought to myself that was very mediocre. And yes, I do think some ULF would have contributed to a more enjoyable experience. The wave, the electrical explosion, the overhead jet, etc. all were quite weak and failed to provide a realistic experience. Having said that, I did rent this and only heard the DD. Which I have been realizing really is CRAP. I was going to buy this movie, but I think I'll let my buying power speak to the crap these rip offs really are. I'll stick to that single rental experience and keep my money in my wallet. Screw the studio on that one. Between escape plan and this, I'm pretty annoyed.
