  1. this is great news! I have had this sitting int he wrapper for a while now...now I gotta break it out!
  2. Another well done mix for catching fire. Appropriate bass which helped tell the story. Not exceptionally deep but nice none the less
  3. hell yeah its a ninja smiley haha its right in the reply toolbar... but I agree with this thread. I can now buy a movie and KNOW its gonna rock...where as before the avs'ers would so OMG its such a great bass movie...I buy it and its a stinker
  4. I hear you... I guess my only way of describing it was (and I agree about the door slam in real ilfe) this was literally the first time it felt like my ears were going to pop because of a movie...it was that real. it was perfectly muffled when needed as if you were in the suit... was it 100% accurate? welll...i guess noone will ever know that but an astronaut. but again I strongly feel depth only tells part of the story when rating a bass scene (although it can tell a bunch more of that story if it is filtered higher...even though I am a no filter proponent..I can "accept" a filter if it starts at 20hz...30hz not so much)...would Gravity have been EVEN better if it dug deeper? probably...but it still doesn't change my opinion on it as it stands...
  5. although I replied to you at AVS. I do not take the actual movie into consideration when talking about bass. I think it made me feel EXACTLY what it would be like to be in a spacesuit and bumping into things etc. exactly what sound design is supposed to sound like. Ninja (the first one) was one of the worst movies I have ever seen but the bass was incredible....no where near the best presentation of bass by any stretch...better than Gravity (in quantity and depth? yes...but better overall not even in the same conversation) thus why we have these discussions...but I am able to separate my emotional thoughts of the movie with the bass I experienced on my HT with my ears. again....it was the best BASS PRESENTATION in a movie I have ever experienced....no where did I say it was the best bass movie...to me that honor goes to TIH
  6. Gravity for me was the single best bass experience I have ever had. Phenomenal in all areas. 5 star hands down for me.
  7. It may be 32 Hz but for me Darla is the single favorite demo scene to show off my subs there is. Always has been too
  8. Just realized Finding Nemo has not been graphed!! An you throw that one in the mix? Darla tap scene is my all time favorite demo (even if it is not a deep reaching scene it makes me laugh every time)
  9. Enders game is bad a-- Great mix! I voted 5 star execution. Not a bad movie either (watching it now and it's better the second time through)
  10. It is one of the few movies graphed that if was surprised it didn't dig deeper. Usually I'm a pretty good judge of that. For example when bolt is leaping over the helicopter at the beginning things rattle in my house with a hint of sound coming out and the couch shakes. Usually an indicator of low Hz. BOLT tricked me!! Haha Thanks for all the graphs. This is my favorite thread ok doubt and has opened me up to some great films!! (Serenity, golden compass etc) Still curious about Kung fu skadoosh scene (did I miss it?) How about the incredibles? And to the poster a few posts back. I have indeed noticed tons of kids movies have incredible bass and sound. Make watching them over and over with my son that much easier haha
