Close mic measurements of sealed systems are taken with the mic even with the plane of the surround or close to it. Most close mic measurements were taken in my garage with the sub lifted a few feet off of the floor and mid room fired diagonally into a larger space. The 18's are all in a cab which is roughly 22.5x22.5 on the front face. Ground plane measurements are outdoors at either 1m or 2m in some cases. The SPL levels have been normalized at 70Hz. This is just an arbitrary frequency that I picked which is about in the middle of the measured bandwidth. These were all taken over a number of years.
