  1. Oh nice! This one totally caught me by surprise. A lot of good data to digest. I'll read it over a couple of times and sleep on it a bit. One lesson learned though... if you really want to have a world-class bass system, you gotta have one of these in their system. For realz.
  2. Yeah, I'd love to. You probably have a better chance than I do being closer. I gotta make it out to the East coast. Ah, okay. That has got to be a very old diagram. If you ever do 7.1 please don't do it like that. It won't sound good at all. If you want any tips on really good 7.1 (or Atmos) set up, hit me up. I go to CES every year. Went to CEDIA last year and that was good. Would like to go again but not going this year. Oh woops. This is a system thread. My bad.
  3. Sweet! Thanks for posting, Dave. Hey, I have a question/critique.... are those shadows in the back supposed to be rear surrounds and the other side surrounds for 7.1 audio? Are you finally going 7.1? If so... please, do NOT place them like this. You might as well stay 5.1 if so. I can help and suggest other spots but I know space is tight in your room. Thanks again for posting.
  4. Yeah, what the heck? It takes more time to delete all those than it would have been to just make another thread for them. Now we're definitely not going to be talking about them.
  5. Graphed already. http://www.avsforum.com/forum/113-subwoofers-bass-transducers/1333462-new-master-list-bass-movies-frequency-charts-745.html#post36585546
  6. It doesn't really bother me but it sounds like others are quite annoyed with Andy's posts. Probably best to make a "classics" thread in this case. It's easy, it doesn't hurt anybody and we can still look at and appreciate the content.
  7. Nice. Look forward to seeing the data.
  8. Welcome to Data Bass Forums! Both of those titles have a LOT of content below the bandwidth that your ported SVS's can produce. That's what you're missing.
  9. That was my other thought of what was happening but I don't think that is what is happening here. He is using a lot of external processing from closed out cinemas with his gear so who knows exactly what is going on with the signal. Haha! But seriously...
  10. Welcome to DB, Ashley. Haven't seen you around in a long while. Thanks for posting all these measurements. I find it interesting how much ~1hz content is in all these graphs of yours. You have a cacophony of gear (that I would say is unnecessary) but I wonder if that stuff is really in these recordings. All that DC stuff tracks the transient so it looks like a natural thing but I wonder if it's some kind of overloading or otherwise unintended artifact. I hope you're reading this, Dave. Not saying that if it's there, it's crap, unintended ULF. I'm wondering why all of Ashley's graphs show stuff there and that it is some unintended measurement artifact. Kinda surprising to me. Ashley, do you have some more modern movies not on laserdisc to graph? Even better would be some graphs from movies that are already on here and if you're going to come up with more DC level bass that isn't in anyone else's graphs. Just curious.
  11. Zepperik, welcome to DB! You will find a LOT of documented bass that extends well below 20hz around here. Glad to see you're still around and keeping the rotary sub system alive. It's a really neat technology and wish you the best of luck with your business.
  12. I'd buy them and test them with the wall socket. Poof!
  13. Could build a mean Marty sub with those. Fo sho.
  14. Nothing currently. At least, nothing short of a $30k Trinnov Altitude anyway. The current max is 7.1.4 or 9.1.2 speakers. There is a possibility that there will be support for 9.1.4 this year but I'd rather it be 7.1.6 first or at least a choice if they're gonna add support for two more speaker outputs.
  15. Sweet! I know we all look forward to new tests from you. I know I'm interested in the TD18 but the comparison of the MTX from your previous test will be very cool too.
  16. Hmmm. Geez what a journey, for sure! It's too bad we may not get a DB level test on them. I sure am curious of their 'proper' performance and it sounds like you like them.
